Prime Contractor - Every work site requires a prime contractor if there are two or more contractors working at a site at the same time. 

As part of Alltek`s Safety Management Program, Alltek offers a Prime Contractor service to land developers and site owners. This program assists the site owners or developers in meeting their OH&S obligations as it pertains to their Prime Contractor requirements. Alltek is able to provide this service at construction sites throughout the province of Alberta.

Alltek also offers a Safety Advisory Program to site owners or developers who will retain the Prime Contractor role yet have a need for a safety representative for their work site.

Some owners relinquish Prime Contractor duties to either a General contractor or sub-contractor on their site. These contractors will usually have their own agendas and not look after the general requirements of the prime contractors obligations. Is the owners legal requirements being met by doing this?
