Title: Metalworking Machine Operator Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Day Salary: $21.00 Hourly, for 40.00 Hours per week, Bonus, Medical Benefits, Dental Benefits, Vision Care Benefits Anticipated Start Date (at the latest in 3 months): As soon as possible Location: Edmonton, Alberta (10 vacancies) Skill Requirements: Education: Completion of high school Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Forklift Operator Certification, WHMIS Certificate Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English Type of Machine or Equipment Set Up or Operation: Shears, Power presses, Saws, Drills, Brakes, Punch presses, Soldering or welding equipment, Hand tools Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Specific Skills: Read specifications or follow verbal instructions, Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines, Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products, Operate machines or equipment which weld, solder, bolt, screw, or rivet metal parts together, Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications, Troubleshoot, perform corrective action or minor repairs, Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist, Document work completed, Build staging or erect scaffolding for heavy metalworking jobs, Clean and lubricate equipment, Replace parts as required Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract) Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail Work Site Environment: Noisy Transportation/Travel Information: Own transport, Public transportation is NOT available Essential Skills: Reading text, Oral communication, Working with others, Job task planning and organizing Other: Public transportation is not available.
