Aboriginal Training Programs
Westland Environmental Services Inc. is a Licensed Trainer for ECO Canada’s Aboriginal Training Programs. BEAHR (Building Environmental Aboriginal Human Resources) is a long standing project of ECO Canada, established as a partnership between two sector councils ECO Canada (the Environmental Careers Organization) and the Aboriginal Human Resource Council (AHRC) in 2001.
We have been approved for the following programs:
- Environmental Monitor Training Program (5 or 7 weeks)*
- Environmental Site Assessment Assistant (7 weeks)*
- Local Environmental Coordinator (12 weeks)
- Solid Waste Coordinator (5 weeks)

The instructional approach for all Aboriginal training programs focuses on practical, hands-on instruction with the incorporation of fieldwork, exercises, and group interaction.
The Delivery Method
The training programs are adaptable to suit community needs and can be arranged to accommodate a variety of requirements, including delivery location, instructor preference, number of students, and the length of time to complete the required modules.
