 Aeration is required in circumstances where the oxygen content in water is such that bacteria which consume organic waste are unable to perform efficiently. Applications of aeration equipment are use in lagoons or waste water retention ponds that have high biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and therefore sludge or algae blooms.
